A vertical modular top load washer flashes the lid lock light instead of a code when the washer won t start. For stainless steel dishwashers press delay start until the display window displays loc. There is the striker plate on the door itself which can crack or get jammed. Disconnect power to the dishwasher for 30 seconds and then restore power.

To open it simply stop the washer and wait 1 to 3 minutes for the safety lock to release.
