My front door opens on a corner of my living room one wall is entirely windows the other wall is the only place to have a living room.
Front door opens into wall.
It measures at about 4 feet from the opening of the door.
As you walk in the front door swings to the right towards the closet.
Even though the door opens in and looks at the couch it s really the best set up to allow for a walk flow to all the doors that go in and out of this room.
After working through a few more options the best option was to make a little entry way to the left of the front door and define the seating area with a sectional against the largest wall.
Another option is to put in a barn style door.
You can do that with art or even better a big mural a row of tall lush plants vibrant wall paint or all of the above.
You can just see the end of the wall to the far left in the photo.
And then there s the problem that the rest of us face.
Make sure that the door can be fully opened and has a place to swing back against the wall if you want it to be in the open position.
Right in front of you would be a full wall that cannot be removed.
I will probably do nothing until i give up the idea of turning the front porch into an entrance but a window partition could be a lovely solution.
There are two kinds of homes.
You walk in the door and literally fall smack dab into the living room.
You can buy the hardware at a store like lowe s and hang a regular door.
The first one has an entryway a small hallway a nook near the front door or even a sharp turn that separates the front door from the rest of the home.
